Ponderosa’s multi-rate video boards handle standard serial digital video signals and HD serial digital video signals, and its modular design allows video I/O boards to be added on-site, minimizing the system’s downtime by eliminating the disruption of factory modifications. Companion analog and digital audio options are available for both frames.
Ponderosa offers a comprehensive array of configuration options to meet your workflow needs, including fiber optic I/O boards, analog-to-digital, and digital-to-analog video cards. Ponderosa routing switchers provide intelligent reclocking with a microprocessor that analyzes the data rate of incoming signals. If the rates are within range of standard 270Mbps or 2.97Gbps data rates, Ponderosa will optimize the signal to its target rate. If the data rate of incoming signal is outside typical 270Mbps or 2.97Gbps data rates, like MPEG-2, Ponderosa will allow the signal to pass without interruption.

The Sierra Ponderosa Modular HD-SDI Routers are ideal for Mission Critical applications. All boards are fully accessible from the front of the router and the back plane is completely passive. This ensures minimal downtime in the unlikely event of a failure. The Ponderosa is available in 4RU 64x64 or 8RU 128x128 frame sizes and is expandable by 8 input and/or 8 output increments, allowing the Ponderosa to grow with your HD needs.
